Since focusing on dance photography, I have worked with many different companies in the tri-state area. Each is distinct in what they teach and how they teach it. And each seems to have its own personality. I always love seeing my friends at Performers Edge Dance Academy in Bronx, NY. They are very talented, brave, committed to one another and a whole lot of fun. I join them each year for an innovative studio shoot and a beautiful environmental one. The kids and their families seem to appreciate my efforts, and God knows I appreciate them. 

      Beautiful Chayse exemplifies the spirit of PEDA completely. She is a 9th grader who performs well in school. She excels at writing and Spanish. She has been with PEDA since the age of 3. Dance is her first love, and she works very hard. She also loves to assist in classes alongside her favorite teachers Ms. Stef and Ms. Mia. Everything seemed to come together for this image beneath the Throgs Neck Bridge. The wispy character of the sky. The rocky shoreline and dramatic breath of the bridge. It's Chayse herself, however, who stands out most. Her strength and form, her focus and compelling look. She offered a few different variations of this pose before providing my lens with this one.
